We have telegraphed to the Ambassador welcoming General Olmsted's suggestion and saying that we propose to recommend to the War Office the appointment of an officer for attachment to him in advance of any decision on the wider scheme, which is still under consideration. In informing the Ambassador accordingly we have asked for further assistance from him in choosing a suitable candidate.
